Frequently Asked Questions
What is an NDIS audit?
An NDIS audit is a comprehensive evaluation process conducted to assess whether a service provider's services comply with current standards and regulations set forth by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Why should I become a registered NDIS provider?
Becoming a registered NDIS provider expands your potential client base significantly. Unregistered providers can only serve participants who are self-managed or plan-managed, while agency-managed participants, comprising over a quarter of all NDIS participants, are limited to registered providers. Moreover, certain services like Behaviour Support Planning and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) can only be offered by registered providers.
Why do I or my organisation need an audit?
An audit ensures compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards, which are guidelines designed to help service providers better understand their roles and responsibilities towards individuals with disabilities. Additionally, being audited is a mandatory requirement under the NDIS and helps maintain credibility and trust with clients.
What is the role of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission?
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission is an independent body responsible for improving the quality and safety of support services for people with disabilities. It regulates service providers, ensures compliance with Practice Standards, handles complaints, and oversees worker screening, among other responsibilities.
